Heart of the Sea chronicles the decline of our once-thriving fishing industry and way of life. It examines how our waters shaped us as a community and influenced our local history.

The series looks at ways in which our coastal communities are fighting back and diversifying to make a living from the sea. These stories are told through the voices and experiences of those who lived them, the sea-faring folk of Inishowen.

This project is funded through the BIM Fisheries Local Action Group. It is on-going and ICMN is looking for material and people with a story to tell. The project wants to compile an archive of photos and any other material that is available out there.

The idea behind the project is to document material for future generations that would otherwise be lost. The series of films and all recorded material will be archived and free for the public or schools and libraries to use for research or promotional purposes.
